Riding a horse in the Park is a special experience. There are plenty of bridle paths in the Park.
The Park has an approximately 45 kilometers long bridle path with 13 intersections. With the intersections you can safely plan your own route. You can start your ride at one of the three entrances: Otterlo, Hoenderloo or Schaarsbergen. The routes are marked with posts, with a picture of a horseshoe.
Horse rider rules
Horse riders must observe a number of rules: riding on the marked rambling routes, the tarmac roads, cycle paths, the Marchantplein and in the wildlife reserves is not allowed. Also, horse riders are reminded to be extra vigilant for the other visitors in the Park.
Horse-drawn carriages
Horse riders with horse-drawn carriages must stay on the tarmac roads and bridle paths. Riding 'off-road' is at your own risk.
Parking
There are a number of parking spaces that are suitable for cars with trailers. They can be found at the 'Gymnasiumvallei', the large car park near Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, and the coach car parks in the Central Area. These places are marked on the detailed map you receive at the entrance. You can also park at other locations, as long as you do not obstruct traffic, roads or paths.
Hitching rails
Hitching rails are located at:
- The Parkrestaurant in the Park's Central Area (with water supply).
- In the south of the Park at the Wildbaanweg near the Reemsterbos (no water supply).
- Behind the terrace of the Theekoepel at Jachthuis Sint Hubertus (with water supply).
Cattle grids
Please be aware of the cattle grids, which can be found at the Park entrances and around the Central Area.
Costs
Check the the costs for horse and rider.
Visitors with a trailer pay for the car, not for the horse in the trailer. Are you bringing a covered wagon? No problem! For small covered wagons (seating up to 8), you pay for one horse and all passengers. Multiple horses will not cost you anything in this case.
For large covered wagons (seating more than 8), you only pay for the party. No prices are charged for the horses.

Patrons
Holders of a Patron card with car/motorcycle can bring their horse free of charge. Holders of a Patron card without car/motorcycle can buy an admission ticket for their horse at the Park entrances.
